Are you being facetious? I saw an empty relevant forum and I posted in it to offer my expertise. Is that spamming?

We have seen a lot of search engine marketers doing just that - spamming forums. I'm kind of curious as to why any legitimate SEO marketer would do such a thing, as it's the antithesis of good SEO.
my guess would be that they are not as legitimate as you think.
