Which is better?,to fix a machine that lasted for a long time with you or to buy a new one.Maybe fixing the old one would only make it run for a while and not performing that good.I have a translator machine and it's been with me for three years.Lately, it's been burnt , maybe because it did its mission and was time to say goodbye.I first wanted to fix it but I'm having second thoughts of buying a brand new.I mean, maybe repairing it would only give my machine an extra breath before its death!

So,would do you people think 'bout this?

Well, it depends on what the machine is, how easy it is to fix, how easy it is to find replacement parts, and how much everything costs.

For example, a toaster oven probably shouldn't be fixed, particularly if you've had it for at least 5 years. After all, they're cheap, most of them are more or less interchangeable, you can buy them just about anywhere and fixing them can be a pain (small parts and lots of bad soldering).

But a car, of course, you would fix, unless it was very old or very badly damaged. And, you'd fix something with sentimental value, such as the first stereo you owned, if that means a lot to you. Antiques should also be fixed, if by doing so you can fix them without destroying what makes them an antique. That is, a radio from the 1940s probably should be fixed if you can get original parts, but you need to be careful in that area because if you fix it with nonoriginal parts, you will take away what makes it an antique and it will lose a lot of its value.

I have a translator and it fell many times but was ok.I used it for three years before it broke down! I am afraid that after repairing it won't be as usual and I would be wasting my money fixing it.
