The Weather where you are in a verse or two

The air is damp, the sky is grey,
The breeze is from the West.
The frogs are spawning in the pond
And I've removed my vest.

Gusts of wind are rattling panes
Of glass as a storm passes by
I watch the trees with anxious eyes
And heave a worried sigh.

Storm Katie nears our rainswept shores
Such timing isn't right
Easter's here and now we fear
The force of nature's might!

Cloudfists in purple velvet spar across the sky
hard rain darts down
on rich green fields, emerald like a painting

that surreal moment of fading light
and rainscent
and my clothes lifting up around me, floated up in the enigmatic wind

these little things

After coffee and lashings of toast
I've concreted me in a large post
I shall call it a day
As the rain's on the way
And wet groundwork is what I hate most.

Still smelling the rain, hours gone
a brisk walk to the corner store
the thin sweater allowing chill to bone
already drank coffee, wanting more

high in the sky, white clouds let light
laser through and down to my tree
where birds quizzically peck about
demanding seeds

The sun was here
but now it's gone
No time to put my sunspecs on

Rain hat - sun hat
no time to chose
Instead I think I'll have a snooze

Head on pillow
Eyes shut tight
Now I'm ready to greet the night

No Name Man ridin fat on his tractor
He waves a beer to me, belly bouncin
I do the nod, thinking beer factors
lazy cats stretching, lounging

Time has taken me so many places
and time home dwindles down
No Name Man already blurring to
faces I've seen all over the land

They have grass where I'm going
but will it smell this sweet
always walking in and soon out
but *grin* the things I've seen
