'British' journalist kidnapping : hoax?

I'm sticking my neck out just a little here. There's a story breaking about a journalist who has just been released after a kidnapping, beatings, death threats, etc. I've read it and it just seems a little... too dramatic... like it was written for an audience. My money's on a hoax.
