Couple smile and smoke cigarettes on the flight from San Francisco to Hawaii, United States, 1965.
Do you want to get those days back?

@inretrospective,
I wouldn't mind having that much leg room.

@engineer,
I used to like both smoking and leg room. Glad I stopped smoking and am glad not to breath it on a plane - but I also miss the leg room in the cattle class seats.

@engineer,
She's got a run in her stocking, which women don't wear anymore either.

@chai2,
I love the woman behind them.

She's like "WTF is that out on the wing?"

I hate modern flight. Since I have no reason to hurry, I drive if I go on long trips.

@inretrospective,
I don't really miss getting dressed up like that to fly. It wasn't all that comfortable. I don't need to be in sweats, but suits and stockings and heels? no thank you.

I liked the champagne on KLM, but the cigarettes didn't add to my enjoyment of flying (though I admit, I took the free Peter Stuyvesant's to smoke later Smile )

Woman in seat behind is wondering if she can open the window to get some fresh, smoke-free, air.

@margo,
Maybe she is watching the coastline, to see if they are hijacked to Cuba.

1960s be damned, when I flew for the first time, from London to Nice in 1994, I remember that as soon as the "No Smoking" sign went out, all you could hear was the sound of Zippos, you know that 'clink' sound.
