Were the Virgin Mary and Elisabeth first cousins, second cousins, etc.?

Luke 1:36 states that angel Gabriel said to Mary: "And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren."

What translattion do you have?
In my English it says kinswoman which means realtive and in Swedish and Danishit is the same. It means a female relative and not cousin.

He's using the King James version, which reads "cousin." Just about every other version says "relative," which means the same as kinswoman.

What about all the other Bibles that are not King James Version?
The Greek, the Latin, the Hewbrew, plus all the languages it is translated into?
They should not be near the truth.
What a crap you are telling.

Some modern versions are rather bad translated, but is not the majority.

Are there copyrights on old Bibles?
In my Danish from 1866 it says relative - more modern word
In my Danish from 1888 it says kinsfolk - a word from old norse.
In Swedish it says kinfolk in old as well as modern bibles.
A modern children´s bible says relative - no child would know what a kinfolk is.
According to you - these translations are not so good as they do not use the word cousin.
In Swedish we even have different words for if it is a 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th cousin.

The spirit of Ama says that they were first cousins. The parents of John the Baptist, Zechariah and Elisabeth, were old already when John was conceived. The parents of the Virgin Mary, Joaquin and Ana, were already old when they conceived Mary. Mary was entered into the temple and became an orphan by age nine. She was in the oratory when archangel Gabriel came. An oratory is "a small chapel; room set apart for prayer" (World Book Dictionary). That means, she was finished in her monthly period that is why she could enter the synagogue.

These are the Latin and Koine Greek of that verse. The bolded word is
the word you have translated as "cousin". Both the Latin and Greek
translate as "kinswoman" or "relative", not specifically "cousin". Please
note that the Gospel According to Luke was written in Koine Greek.

If you wish to seriously study the gospels, you should learn Koine Greek
and Aramaic.
