Hello everyone.
Could you please explain me the meaning of the word "in-house" in the following passage? I couldn't find a good explanation in dictionaries.
"It also seems that there may be in-house spelling rules for compound ortography; for example, the Chambers Dictionary (Marr 2008) is more conservative in using large numbers of hyphens that Collins English Dictionary (2006)."

In-house means within an organization, rather than from another organization, or in the greater world.

Where do you have your printing done?

Oh, we do it in-house, we don't send it out.


In this case, it means that there are rules for compound orthography which are applied within the organization, and without regard for standards elsewhere.
