Central heat system won't stay on

The only way to get the heat to kick on is to turn the breaker off and back in again. Once it reaches the set temperature it suits of and won't come back on. It doesn't trip the breaker. Anyone have any ideas??

@Jthomas2011,
My first and vague though is that it may involve the part of the control system that prevents the furnace from overheating. I don't have any idea why it doesn't come back on or reset itself.

@Jthomas2011,
I would start with replacing the thermostat. That's a quick and relatively cheap way to start diagnosing it, I think.

We replaced the thermostat already and the filter as well. We are wondering if it could be the breaker...
