Hello everybody!
In the following sentence: "...a chemistry begins to develop between him and an overly emotional and outspoken Anna..."
Should it be "an overly emotional" or "the overly emotional"?
Thanks!

@JackieBee,
'An' is generic.
'The' is specific.
'My' or 'our' is personal.

Simple, yet profound... .

@neologist,
That much I know. But in this case, we don't know who's that Anna yet. So it's just 'some Anna'. Generic? But she does have a name. Does it make her specific?

@JackieBee,
It is a specific Anna, but the author has chosen to give her name a generic sound. I would stick with 'a' or 'an'.

I kind of hope FBM will show up. He's good at clarifying stuff like this.

@JackieBee,
Are you the writer?
You can convey a lot of information win the way you word the sentence.

@JackieBee,
Jackie, "...him and and..." being alliterative (is that the right word? anyone) I'd elect "the" though thou might omit completely

My alliteration (?) purposeful, forgive

@dalehileman,
Quote:
"...him and and..."
s/b "...him and an..." but still alliterative
