Just saw "The Alamo" and enjoyed it. Looking up the history it appears that Crocket surviving the onslought and being executed later was a historicly accurate touch. Also the President/General Santa Ana seems to have had the lives of a cat.
I saw the one produced and starred John Wayne. Evidently, he didn't do to well financial making the movie.
The Alamo
I loved the "Alamo" Did Davey Crocket actually play the violin that well.
Glen Ford made "The Man From the Alamo." 1953 It didn't do well at the box office.

If I remember correctly Sterling Hayden made a film about THE ALAMO where he played Davy Crockett, cant remember the title of the film, I think Gordon MacRae sang the title song over the credits.
Sorry my error, Sterling Hayden played Jim Bowie in the film I`ve just mentioned, I think it was called THE LAST COMMAND, i Think it was Arthur Hunnicutt who played Davy Crocket
