I'm told the use of Mancozeb based fungacide is best for preventing fungus on roses in a cool and humid environment. Looking over the fact sheet it looks like pretty poisonous stuff (like don't enter the treated area without a space suit for twenty four hours) then says it "practically" won't harm bird or arthropods. (How do I get hummingbirds to don space suites?) A relative tells me the same effect minus the need for space suits can be achieved with a mix of backing soda or slightly more toxic, sulphur. Does anyone know the right formula for either of these applications?
