I got to meet BB King in Toronto once. He was a nice gentleman and a legendary musician.

We ran into him as he was jamming at the old Hurricane shop in Nawlins. We were comin from playing a softball game nd got in with a "group cover"
He signed my soffball.

"boy thats one funny name you got, " He said as he signd it.

He then did a loooong set and we got quietly hammered. He were good.

@edgarblythe,
This is a sad time for music and music lovers. His presence was a like a beacon. If my memory serves me well, I saw him at Paul's Mall (long gone now) in Boston around 1974-75 timeframe.

I'm going to play a bunch of his tunes today.

Carlos Santana paid tribute to BB tonight, he called him the Chairman of the Board. He was an inspiration for many musicians .

@edgarblythe,
Listening to a repeat of a radio interview Holger Peterson did with BB King 9 years ago. Hopefully it'll be on the CBC website tomorrow.

Terrific terrific interview.

What a charming gentleman.

According to his bio, he stopped smoking when he was 25. Can you subtract 25 from 89? You seem to always look for something that would diminish others. Its not just BB, its a pattern for you. How does the fact that people will miss a legend make you feel defensive? Never mind explaining, Im not that curious. You're just a guy who only sees the hole in the doughnut. oh well.

@glitterbag,
oh Im sorry Hawk, your remark was addressed to Edgar, why do you think Edgar is not following along? I don't think Ive ever seen you be rude to a man, somebody must have starched your big boy pants.

Really dude, not every thread is about you. This one is definitely not about you.

When it is self evident that a fool has spoken, I see no reason to point it out.
