Everyone meet Cali. We adopted Cali from the SPCA yesterday and she is such a joy to have here at the Montana Ranch. She's 7 weeks old and pretty as can be. She made herself at home as soon as we walked in the door and she'll be the head of the house in no time Laughing

Isn't she though! That spot under her left eye is a crust that built up from her eye watering when she sleeps. I don't know what causes this, but I'll find out when I take her to the vet in a month for shots. I gave her her first bath today and got some of it off, but it'll take me awhile to get the rest.

Here's a close up where you can see her beautiful blue eyes. It was taken yesterday before her bath, so the crusty spot is worse than it is now. The girl at the SPCA tells me her eyes won't stay blue :-(

Good idea. If you're ever going to bathe a cat, it's best to start them early.

Montana,

Just a word of caution, cause that kitten looks mighty mean.

Be careful Montana. We don't want to lose you.

Absolutely! I never bathed my cats before, but they were also all short haired cats, dark colored and were kept indoors. This one is long haired, white and already needed a bath when I got her. I thought it was a good idea to start her right away since she took to us so well and has no fear of us at all. I also bought some brushes and combs to keep her fur nice and petty. She did not like her bath one bit, but she seemed to like being clean after and she enjoyed the brushing very much. I'm sure she'll get use to the baths in time as long as I'm consistant. She's very trusting and very easy to handle, so that helps a lot.

Don't worry Craven. I know I come off as being quite the scaredy cat, but I do have this dark side that comes out to take over when needed ;-)

Yeah. I thought it was a good idea to get a fresh start with Cali :-D

Olga
She has the most wonderful personality I've seen in a kitten so far. She is one huge breath of fresh air that was so very needed around here.
