If the doctor who treated Lincoln's head shot known then what doctors know now could they have saved his life?

@Rickoshay75,
Show me the MRI, or a CT scan, or the R-rays... show me something of Lincoln's head with the bullet inside and I might answer your question.

Brain swelling is what killed Abe. Had the doctors opened the other side of his head to release the pressure he would have survived. Or if they opened up his head and removed all of his brain.

French doctors are still racking their brains over the case of a patient who is said to live a normal life despite the fact that his brain is almost completely absent,

It's documented evidence by doctors, nothing to do with me.

My own theory is the brain is not needed, just event memory, muscle memory (reflex) , instinct, 5 senses, and fear brainwashing.

It is known that a person can live with an injury (even when caused by a shot) in "one side" of the brain, but besides of this condition ( is practically a death sentence when the bullet reached both sides of the brain), the health of the person plays a vey important role.

Abraham Lincoln -by records collected about his health- was showing lots of symptoms of a mortal disease. I guess that even with a releasing of the pressure of his brain, he shouldn't live longer to tell about it.

@Rickoshay75,
Your theory is ludicrous. As for Lincoln's chances, they were zero, given the state of the practice of surgery in 1865. WAKE UP ! ! ! You're dreamin' . . .

No, even if he hadn't been shot he would have died eventually.

Well, I admit that life normally ends with death ... but you never can be really certain. And since the USA is the land of endless possibilities ...
