GFCI Outlets not working after circuit break

I recently turned off a circuit in order to install a light fixture. When I flipped it back on, everything came back except for two GFCI outlets on my kitchen counter wall. I tried pushing the buttons on them, but neither respond. I tried going back, turning the circuit off, then back on - nothing. Any suggestions?

@DLP,
You might have shorted the circuit when you put in the light fixture so the GFI is doing its job and indicating a fault. Disconnect the fixture and see if that resolves the problem.

Also, if it is an old GFI, it could need replacing.

@DLP,
If this is a florescent fixture, you probably need to put it on another circuit. Florescents and GFI's don't play well.

@engineer,
What if you replaced the GFCI and it shows a green power light but it will not allow you to reset? What does that mean?
