It's 6 C here now, and it is supposed to reach 8 C by afternoon. This will be the really bad time for Buffalo, because there is a serious risk of flooding as the seven to nine feet of snow on the ground there will be melting, and the news readers keep saying that the runoff will be greater than the capacity of their catch basins, with the problem compounded by the leaves that were on the ground plugging drains in the streets.

the dirty little secret about Florida s that they hve about 5 decent months of bearable temps a year and then it gets unbearably hot.
I had an apartment in Mt Dora when I was doing research down there. The winter was great and the spring was getting hot, the summer was much much hotter and autumn was almost unbearable
(hot but no wind except for an occasional hurricane)
I grew up in Arizona,
where I assure u, it gets a lot hotter; feels like a blast furnace.
I was there for 5 years n one day, enjoying the company of my friends.
I return sometimes, for conventions of groups to which I belong.
The weather is the same. Florida is a lot more soothing.

Its 8O degrees F. out now, as of 8:32 A.M.; its delightful.

Here in Pennsylvania, it was cold around 16-32F/-9 to 0C for several days with the polar vortex passing through, now it's 62F/17C.

Arguably it is not merely A sports team, it is THE sports team. Professional American Football began in Pittsburgh PA, and the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to lead the league, with 6 Superbowl championships, more than any other team. NFL teams are the most valuable sports teams in the world, according to Forbes magazine, more valuable even than European Soccer/futbol teams.

Quote:
The average NFL team is currently worth $1.43 billion, the highest value in the 17 years Forbes has tracked professional football team finances. . . In our most recent reports on the other leading team sports, the world’s 20 most valuable soccer teams (comprised mainly of clubs from the top English, Spanish, German and Italian leagues) had an average value of $1.05 billion.

Well, the first bit of the cold blowy thing has arrived from across the pond, and I actually had to scrape the windscreen this morning.

@ehBeth,
18C? Canada? November? Blimey.

The BBC are going to lash out a few billion on a new super computer for weather forecasting, but I think I'll phone them and suggest we just look to see what you lot are getting and, after toning the severity down slightly, add seven days and bingo!

Yep - temps 30-40C, high humidity, sudden storms, mangoes in the shops!

And there's a giant Lego Christmas tree in Pitt Street Mall!

Ha! We tried to skype the offspring on Saturday evening, (Sunday morning at your end) and he was off on his new motorbike with a mate, looking for somewhere to snorkel.

@Lordyaswas,
Its 3:54 PM and all is well, at 89 degrees Florida.

I 'm surprized that Weather Underground tells me
that in Phoenix, Arizona it is 67 degrees F.
Its usually a lot hotter there, than here in Florida.
