Abandoned wiring

I'm renovating my home and will have to abandon some circuits and wiring. But I'm not able to access all of the wiring to be abandoned. Can I just detach them at the panel and snip them off where I can, or does one or both ends have to be terminated in an accessible box? I live in Alberta, Canada.

@ian mckenzie,
Got my own answer. If the circuit is disconnected from the breaker at the panel and the wires snipped or coiled outside the panel box, then the wires at the plug/light end can also be snipped and coiled and tucked into the wall cavity. But if there is any doubt then the ends should be terminated properly within an accessible box.

Yes you can do so it is a good idea for abandon wiring anywhere in your home.
