You might say that you failed in the discussion. However, without some context, it's really meaningless. What were you trying to accomplish in the discussion, buat failed to accomplish?

No. It's like : I tried to dissuade a friend of mine from doin sth , but I failed .
So. Dissuasion is a noun. I was just trying to make construction with this noun

You didn't use the word dissuasion at all. "Sth" is not a word in English. "U" is not a word in English. You need to stop using that bullsh*t "text-speak" if you intend to learn standard English.

OK, i see my error now. I had read dissuasion as discussion. I do beg your pardon. The sentence is correct--but i can't imagine a native speaker ever saying or writing such a sentence.
