1. Your book is similar to mine in that they are both bought from the same store.

2. Of the two shirts, I think, the green one is better in that it is cheaper and looks more in vogue.

Are they both understandable and ok grammatically and naturally?

1., 2. I'd say "inasmuch as" but that's only me. "In that it is" is kinda clumsy

Depending on context I might'v writ, "…the green one's better (or 'I prefer the green one') 'cause it's cheaper and more in vogue."
