Scientists in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert have unearthed fossils that have allowed them for the first time to build a complete picture of one of the more bizarre-looking dinosaurs.

Deinocheirus mirificus, which means “unusual horrible hand”

It looks like a dinosaur that's been designed by Gerald Scarfe.

@edgarblythe,
If nothing else it proves dinosaurs and people were around at the same time because somebody must have painted it.

@izzythepush,
Do you think it's oil on canvas? Did Dinosaur man have canvas back then?

We'd better get gunga in on this one.

@Lordyaswas,
He'd be able to date it, probably pre flood but post exodus.

@edgarblythe,
evidence that all this dinosaur crap had gone on quite long enough. My"theory" which is mine alone and of which I therefore thought up so I can claim that it is entirely done by my own mind, is that this creature bounded around more like a kangaroo . The reason for the big stomach in the rendering is that the rib sections appeared expandable thus bringing up the theory that this critter could have filled up with a ventral pouch of methane which allowed it to bound around rather like a big beach ball.

I thought about transposing bones from more than one animal, the way they did to come up with brontosaurus, but I don't really think they did.

Most people are used to dinosaurs depicted with reptilian scales. This one is depicted with a full plumage of feathers.

The .45-70 is more of a round for CXP4 type animals. This guy looks more CXP3. I'd rather use a .375 H&H.
