I lost the tread of the story while/when u shouting to me .
When or while ?
And here. I have omitted "were" which should be placed before the verb "shout",is this allowed ?

I think Ara you mean "thread"

Pretty much the same meaning except that "while" implies a more nearly continuous effect

Incidentally we'd usually say "shouting at me"
