338a Variety and 328d Exhilarating. I thought it could be 'breed' and 'elating', but seems not. Help.

That's what I thought but it's only 4 letters and based on what I have filled in all ready it spells out 'bobs' haha, thank you though!

You've got your clues a little mixed up here.
248d is AVOCADO.
For 242d the clue is 'curtsies' and the answer is BOBS.
