Did anybody here listen to the San Francisco Symphony playing this piece? I was flabbergasted, though, I noticed that critic's responses are a bit cooler. It's length was about 25 minutes and is a tribute to Beethoven, the name referring to the scherzo movements of his string quartets, scherzo meaning joke.

This piece to me is true 21st century music, probably the greatest in 50 years, and heralds this new era of music as Beethoven's "Eroica" and Stravinsky's "Rite" did 200 and 100 years respectively.

Perhaps I'm exaggerating, I don't know. There is as yet no recording, and I'd like to hear it again. The piece premiered in San Francisco in 2012.
