Famous slackers in TV and film?

Reply Fri 19 Sep, 2014 08:02 am
Looking for famous and interesting slackers (main character) from TV and film - one per series unless they're a famous pair like Harold Lee and Kumar Patel.

I'm leaving off Beavis and Butthead for the last minute if the suggestion runs out of steam without and more suggestions. I'm going for likable and affable characters. I'm also trying to keep the 50/50 ratio of male and female characters if possible.

The question in the poll suggestion will be along the lines of:
Which of these slackers would you like to get to know better?

What I have now in my list is:
The Dude (Jeff Bridges) from The Big Lebowski (1998)
Harold Lee and Kumar Patel (John Cho and Kal Penn) from Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle (2004)
Earl Hickey (Jason Lee) from My Name Is Earl (2005)
Jane F. from Smiley Face (2007)
Ned Rochlin (Paul Rudd) from Our Idiot Brother (2011)

As long as he's lazy, unambitious, but friendly and kind. He's in.

Do you go back as far as Ma and Pa Kettle? Marjorie Main and Percy Kilbride as the slacker.

@tsarstepan,
I think Archie Bunker was a slacker...and he was a favorite of many people.

He hardly can be considered affable though. Embarrassed

He was given many affable moments by Norman Lear at various times during the run...although I will acknowledge that he was not noted for his affability.

Archie was opinionated and a jerk. But he was a hard working man. I never thought he was a slacker.

Obviously a lot of opposition to Archie Bunker being included here, so I acknowledge that I made a mistake...and withdraw his name.
