It's going on ten years since Kicky and I started the A2K pick-um game.
http://able2know.org/topic/35715-1

It was crude and sparse at first but under the steady guiding hand of the Commish(rjb) it's grown into a great place to talk football and show off our handicapping skills.
A great big tip-o-the hat to johnboy and those that have helped out.

That is all.

I'm hoping the Ravens will react to this week's tragic events by marshaling all their emotions and stomping the yellow towels into the mud.

@realjohnboy,
Well a few of us knew who would win.

Good Lord, I'm sick of the Ray Rice story and I figured the Ravens were too. Plus they have Steve Smith: No TDs but 6 catches for 71 yards. He still has it.

@Finn dAbuzz,
I'm sure the Ravens are sick of it but to me it's a fundamental game-changer in the way our culture sees spousal abuse.
However this is neither the time nor place.

ESPN finally got around to tallying how their 13 experts (all male, by the way) performed in Week #1.
The best of them was 12-4, which would place him in a tie for 1st place in our league.
The worst expert finished 7-9. That puts him in a tie for last.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Star NFL running back Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings has been indicted by a Montgomery County grand jury on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child.

The charges were confirmed by attorney Rusty Hardin, who said he's working on a statement. At this point, we don't know what led to the indictment.

Peterson, 29, played his high school football in Palestine, Texas, and continues to have family ties to our area.

Peterson is widely considered the best running back in the league after rushing for more than 2,000 yards in the 2012 season.

We are gathering details now and will have the latest on Eyewitness News and abc13.com.

@edgarblythe,
Wouldn't matter much. I got a feeling NE is loaded for bear after the Dolphins took it to 'em.

@panzade,
I had picked Minnesota, but now, no.

So, please, Coastal Rat, would you change my pick to New England?

He may be gone longer than anyone anticipated:

Police later reportedly uncovered troubling text messages that Adrian had sent to the boy’s mother after the incident. Adrian allegedly told her that she was going to be “mad at me about his leg. I got kinda good wit the tail end of the switch.” He also allegedly admitted in the text messages that he hit his son in the scrotum, but that he felt “bad” about that, adding, “Never do I go overboard! But all my kids will know, hey daddy has the biggie heart but don’t play no games when it comes to acting right.”

Adrian’s 4-year-old son told authorities that there were “a lot of belts in daddy’s closet,” and that Adrian used them often. Adrian has also allegedly stuffed leaves into his son’s mouth while he was being struck with his pants down.
