@shangalang,
Sure looks like Renoir to me...both in style and subject matter.

@Ragman,
As I wrote before it 'looks like'. However, after looking around a few dozen Renoir galleries online, I can find none that show or catalogue this particular painting. Beats me if it is a Renoir, a copy-cat of his style or one that is done by the guy that does Velvet Elvis or Dogs Playing Poker.

@Ragman,
Then again, who knows? I do vote low dollar.

I thought artists usually signed their work, so where's his/her signature on that pic?

@bobsal u1553115,
I didn't see the sig; I thought Renoir but maybe a knockoff, I thought no, those look like California trees, didn't look further, other stuff going on at the time.

I recently saved an article to read, about not liking Renoir. Can't comment since I haven't read it yet, it's somewhere on my desk top in a folder called Art on Desk..
Me, I never particularly liked his work until I came face to face with The Boating Party painting in a small room at the Phillips Collection in Washington, DC. Changed my mind.

lol, I'm pretty sure it's not Renoir. Looks more realistic than impressionist. It doesn't have a signature that I can see, but still curious if anyone can tell me anything about it.

@shangalang,
Maybe the sig was a clue, some artist taking off from Renoir (looks sort of like Tsomething Fleming..)

@ossobuco,
There is no signature. Whoever posted the Renoir signature is joking around.

@shangalang,
Well, anyhow...after that odd sidestep, I'm saying that after about 30 mins of researching many art site online including online Renoir sites, they don't list that as a Renoir. Now whether or not it's some other famous or infamous artist, I can't find a thing. Maybe someone else can?

@Ragman,
From the clothing I think it was more early 20th century. It does have a California look to it or a Rockport look.
If its European I have no idea where to begin.
