@izzythepush,
There are pears and pears. Best when I lived north and they didn't travel much.

In Abq, they're better than the fish.

I seem to have missed a lot of things lately - Chinese New Year has passed me by this year. Sigh - so much lovely food on offer too. What's the next special event planned at Firefly's Lounge?

@vonny,
Well, we can always celebrate Passover and Easter at the beginning of April, but, before that, I'm in favor of celebrating St. Patrick's Day with all things Irish.

@firefly,
Today is St. Piran's Day, the patron saint of Cornwall. Cornwall is a bit different from the rest of England, of Gaelic descent like the Welsh, and they have their own language. You could have a few Cornish pasties.

Busy holiday weekend.

The Jewish holiday of Passover begins at sundown tonight, and is traditionally begun with a special festive meal, a seder, that recalls the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt.

And Sunday, of course, is Easter, which celebrates the resurrection of Jesus, and is often associated with the eating of a special family meal.

Whether you're celebrating, or not celebrating, one of these holidays, I hope you'll drop in here this weekend to enjoy some good food and good company.

If you'd like anything else with your tea, osso, just signal one of the waiters and they'll get you anything you might fancy.

And, while you are waiting, feel free to browse today's NY Times.

That all looks so appetizing - especially the little sandwiches - making me quite peckish.

@vonny,
I had to look up peckish--I didn't know it meant hungry. Now I have a new word to use. Smile

It's a nippy morning here. I think that, instead of my usual morning coffee. I'll have some hot chocolate.
