-Have you ever been an exchange student?
-Have you ever taken part in/participated in any exchange programme(s)?

Are they all right? Alternatives of expressing the same idea?

@WBYeats,
They are all right. Drop the superfluous "me" in the word "program(s)."

You don't want to be writing like a Brit.

If your chosen variety of English is the UK/British Commonwealth one, or you are writing for an audience who uses that, (not just "Brits") then you do want to be "writing like a Brit".
