Validity of Naturopathic Practice?

How valid is naturopathic medicine? My girlfriend has recently had severe gastrointestinal pain and needed to be taken to hospital. My personal doctor (who is well-known and very experienced) has instructed her that she needs a colonoscopy to determine the pathology. She refuses to comply as her naturopath said she was too young (18) and it would do damage. Also, this naturopath supposedly diagnosed her just the other night with type 2 diabetes and haemorrhoids just by looking at her eyes and feeling her stomach alone. No invasive testing or observations were carried out. I think she's a complete idiot (my girlfriend and the naturopath).

@Ajax240993,
Send her a link to the Darwin Awards, http://www.darwinawards.com/ to see if she can get the not so subtle hint.

@Ajax240993,
Colonoscopies save lives. This quack is spouting pretty dangerous stuff.
