New Data: Americans 58 Times More Likely to Be Killed by Police Than Terror (Sputnik News)
US

According to recent data, Americans are far more likely to be killed by police officers than previously thought, many times more likely than the risk of being killed by a terrorist.

Previously, it was accepted that citizens are 8 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than a terrorist but that might have been a radical underestimation, according to new official FBI data.

There is no national requirement for police departments to provide information about police-related shootings. Some stations do voluntarily provide the data to the FBI but that meant a national averages drastically underrepresented the number of people being killed at hands of police officers..

The FBI now released new information which reveals an average of 545 people killed by local and state law enforcement officers in the US went uncounted in their prior crime statistics provided every year for almost a decade.

In this attempt by official record-keepers to assess the number of previously unknown “law enforcement homicides,” researchers found that an average of 928 people were killed by police annually over the same period, much more than the 383 number published by the FBI data before.

Chuck Todd comes clean on Obamacare and exposes failed Republican governance (VIDEO)

Chuck Todd and Meet The Press finally came clean on Obamacare albeit less stinging to Republican failures as it should have been. He started the piece noting that the Supreme Court case, King v. Burwell, could severely damage the law.

Last week I wrote the piece “Stop rewarding Obamacare political malpractice by ensuring this truth is widely disseminated” where I said the following.
The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was in Washington recently. Virtually every potential candidate spoke out against Obamacare. Ted Cruz called it a train wreck. Maybe he was thinking about the healthcare train wreck in Texas. After-all, by refusing to take back $100 billion dollars in Texas taxpayer dollars from the federal government in the form of the Medicaid Expansion to the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), over one million Texans remain uninsured. This political malpractice will kill millions of Texans.

The traditional mainstream media simply reported Ted Cruz’s statement. No context was provided. He said this in the same week Gallup reported that in fact Obamacare is not a train wreck but a policy that is actually reducing the uninsured rate.

Quote:
When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records – on which the entire panic ultimately rested – were systematically “adjusted” to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.

Two weeks ago, under the headline “How we are being tricked by flawed data on global warming”, I wrote about Paul Homewood, who, on his Notalotofpeopleknowthat blog, had checked the published temperature graphs for three weather stations in Paraguay against the temperatures that had originally been recorded. In each instance, the actual trend of 60 years of data had been dramatically reversed, so that a cooling trend was changed to one that showed a marked warming.

Democrats Denounce Tom Cotton Letter on Iran

Quote:
In a statement issued late Monday night, Biden said Republicans had "ignored two centuries of precedent" and he said the move "threatens to undermine the ability" of any future president to negotiate with foreign countries.

Biden, in his statement, noted that presidents of both political parties have negotiated historic international agreements. "Diplomatic recognition of the People's Republic of China, the resolution of the Iran hostage crisis, and the conclusion of the Vietnam War were all conducted without congressional approval," he noted.

The Republican-drafted letter was an aggressive attempt to make it more difficult for Obama and five world powers to strike an initial agreement by the end of March to limit Iran's nuclear program, which Tehran insists is for peaceful purposes.

@revelette2,
They have allowed their hatred of Barack Obama to lose control.

If the electorate does not punish the Republican Party for what it has done during the two recent episodes of sandbox sand throwing (inviting Netanyahu and signing that letter)...then we deserve the beating we are going to take as a people from more civilized nations.

The electorate should be showing disgust with what is happening right now. We have lost our direction.

@Frank Apisa,
Agreed, these people are despicable. they couldn't elect their own party for President so they are doing all in their power to take away the role of the president. I know we don't have kings, but a President is more than a mere figurehead or else we may as well do away with the office all together and just have a congress. Wouldn't that be great!

@Frank Apisa,
The republicans prefer to destroy our country then let our black president get credit for doing a very good job after GW Bush's Great Recession.

Al Quida loves the republican party; they're doing what al Quaida can't do from the outside. They've already nominated Ted Cruz, the Canadian born shythead, as their hero.

Ted Cruz doesn't understand how our government works; especially how the president has the authority to make treaties with other countries with the consent of the Senate. Congress doesn't make treaties with other countries.

From Yahoo Answers:
Quote:
The distinctions are primarily concerning their method of ratification. Where treaties require advice and consent by 2/3rds of the Senate, sole executive agreements may be executed by the President acting alone.

Millions of people get second chance to sign up for health insurance starting today.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Several million people hit with new federal fines for going without health insurance will get a second chance to sign up starting Sunday, and that could ease the sting of rising penalties for being uninsured.

But as the enrollment window reopens, it's unclear how many know about the time-limited opportunity, let alone will take advantage of it.

Fines payable to the IRS are the stick behind the offer of taxpayer-subsidized private insurance under President Barack Obama's health care law. Virtually everyone in the country is now required to have coverage through an employer or a government program, or by buying individual policies.

This is the first year fines are being collected from uninsured people the government deems able to afford coverage. Tax preparation company H&R Block says the penalty averages about $170 among its affected customers. It usually is deducted from a person's tax refund.

Why bother to write and pass laws when the White House just directs the agencies to do what ever it wants to do?
