Well, Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music wouldn't make the list, but what about the fantastic string of Guess Who hits? I'm especially fond of 'She's Come Undone'.

Mo one did 'pop' better than The Jackson Five. Can't decide between "I Want You Back" or "ABC" for the best pop song IMO. Pure Motown, no doubt, but no one can deny that 12 year old Michael brought something very special to the table.

Man, my ear for perfect pop sucks really. I thought Duran Duran were just a flash in the pan. My idea of a perfect pop song was Gil Scott-Heron's 'Johannesburg'. Wicked rythym, great hooks....and a potent message for the times.

I like a number of songs M Jackson, the kid, recorded. Then I turned him off as an adult before any of the allegations against him were aired, because I did not care for the music. He has the moves, still, but, as Ray Charles says (speaking of rap), "It just doesn't touch my heart."

That's actually the perfect choice; the Jackson Five.
Now that was pop.
And of course, my all time favorite,
Donny Osmond. Ooh la la!
I wrote to him all the time when I was a teen!
