Hello
I wonder what is the meaning of 'hold on fast' in the song of Donna Summer, Could It Be Magic, in the sentence 'Baby I want you now, now, now, and hold on fast'.

"Fast" here means "tightly," or "firmly."

If something is 'stuck fast' it is stuck firmly. To 'hold fast' to something means to stick to it firmly.

I never know that hold on fast is any type of idiom, I have learned one more idiom today. I love idioms but I was thinking that some other meaning of this phrase.
