Don't mean to quibble but hiring a big law firm nowadays isn't about hiding info, it's about managing info. Big difference.

Hey, I understand where you're coming from and if it were anyone other than Christie I would give your response a thumbs up. Christi has quite a colorful past and I've had the opportunity to observe the brash confrontational governor up close. But as this investigation comes to a close you will be able to get a deeper insight into this man than I'm able to articulate here.

An this quote had any connection with overriding the fifth amendment rights of a government employee?

As I had already stated if the government wish testimony of those government employees they can force it by granting testimony immunity.

And on the oralloy words about Kercher, please, I didn't say any of that.

Don't take it personally, Ossobuco. You did nothing wrong. I have the poster in question on ignore....it saves me from a lot of unnecessary frustration.

The reality IS that Scalia did state as Advocate paraphrased. AND, that's a fact.

Not really. Advocate made a vague reference to gun control (a term that includes MANY violations of the Constitution) and said that Scalia said that such is OK.

Scalia said no such thing.

I've never felt any need to deal with things that don't exist.

I said it was a dictum. This is part of the case, which I guess you have not read.

It was a simple and direct question of whether and how the quote related to the fifth amendment right of public employees and your only response was an insult?

Searching the internet I found the quote have to do with the fourth amendment rights of public employees not being greater then private sector employees and have zero to do with fifth amendment rights.

@oralloy,
The following comes from Wikipedia.

"The courts have upheld most of these laws as being constitutional.[75] The basis for the lower court rulings is the paragraph near the end of the Heller ruling that states:
Nothing in our opinion should be taken to cast doubt on longstanding prohibitions on the possession of firearms by felons and the mentally ill, or laws forbidding the carrying of firearms in sensitive places such as schools and government buildings, or laws imposing conditions on the commercial sale of arms.[76]"

@farmerman,
Sorry, but I have neither the time nor the interest to read every post. I am sorry for the repetition.
