Tall parents/children

My mother was about 5' 1", and my dad was about 6' when he was younger. I'm closer to my mother's height than my father's.

I have cousins whose parents have about that same height difference. Some are very tall, some are shortish, some are sort of regular height.

There's no real way to determine in advance which way genetics are going to play out.

Or even if they're going to be directly determined by the height of the parents. Mr B and I are both tall (6' and over), one of my daughters is 5' 10" and the other is 5' 4", which is much closer to the height of the women in Mr B's family than either of us.

yup - my cubicle partner just came in

she's about 5'10", her mum is 5'4", her dad was about 5'7"

her sister and brother are also about 5'10"
