Hi Network Experts,
why do people use network switches to connect computers instead of routers?Many thanks in advance.

Hi Engineer,
how do a small company set up their network normally?Do they use wireless routers?

Wireless will only work for very, very small offices.

Using wireless for your primary connection inevitably leads to either interference, which causes slow speeds and/or outages, or dead zones.

It's actually harder to to wireless right than it is to just put in a switch and run cables to each desk.

Agree with DD. Normally you will use switches to support a wired system. If the desks are centrallized, you can use one switch for several computers. I use a wired router connected to two switches in my home plus wireless for mobile devices.
