Peace and Love, The Righteous Brothers were two white guys out of Philly, I think, with a very soulful sound. Bill Medley was the tall, darkhaired guy who sang bass. "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" was a HUGE hit for them.
I'll take a stab at Monger's question and say The Supremes.
