@MattDavis,
No apology necessary, Matt. There would be much for me to learn if I was to weigh in here on various and sundry philosophical issues.

Beyond the humor, did you also see the truth?

Interesting concern in the light of so many responders who quote an entire posting. I've often wondered if they instead used a link whether the forum's mem disk couldn't accommodate twice the vol

@MattDavis,
not religious anymore, still forced to wear the label, very ashamed with it.

Do you feel like your beliefs place you in a group? yes.
Is your group label helping or hurting you? hurting.
Does the label help or hurt your group? as soon as i will be the group, i will notify

Yes. Just expressing that I believe in God seems to put me in the group of 'Religious people', which pisses me off no end because I find that I have nothing in common with 99.999% of them other than their professing to know God. Frankly, I don't believe them...

And of course, they don't believe me. Whatayagonnado?

@MattDavis,
The religious beliefs should not to be a rilevant issue in public life. When in Europe the religion was important the consequences were the religious wars. Today, in a multi-religious world, everyone should be to able to follow their own religion in freedom. Everyone shall be free to be recognized for their religion, but no one can make a reason for discrimination.

@MattDavis,
You misused the term 'tribalism' but I think I know what you really meant.
You meant Does belonging to something definite contribute to why you belong.

I am a Catholic. To you it is a label but to me it is the ony way to tell if I belong to that Church that claims institution by Jesus.

To you it is only to differentiate from other Christians. To be honest, I never think that way. I am a convert and I just followed my reason.
