Explain the concept of dependent variable (y) and independent variable (x) and how it works with three examples respectively

@Chuka,
In general ,we don't do homework. You can find the examples yourself.
But to start you off...the independent variable is the one the experimenter alters in an an experiment. The dependent one is the one he measures as a result of his alteration of the first.
