A 7-year-old Bay Area boy had to be flown to a Sacramento hospital after he was hurt while target shooting at his family's Georgetown property, deputies said Monday.

The child was using a single-shot .22-caliber bolt action youth rifle with the help of his father, according to a news release from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department.

He and his dad were shooting rifles at targets at the same time Saturday afternoon. The targets were about 40 yards away. Several family members stood behind the shooters, watching them, deputies said.

Despite the fact that no one noticed any ricochets and the guns were always pointed down-range, the 7-year-old at one point grabbed his chest and complained of pain, deputies said.

With all those guns, you would expect gun ranges to be the safest place on earth.

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – A 14-year-old boy is dead after being shot in the chest with a rifle.

On Thursday, Midwest City police say they received a 911 call about a possible shooting in the 4200 block of N. Shadybrook Dr.

When officers arrived, they found the body of a 14-year-old in the garage of the home.

Two other teenagers, who were at the home at the time of the shooting, told investigators the victim shot himself.

A short time later, both admitted they were all in the garage when the 14-year-old was handling the rifle.

Authorities say it unintentionally went off and hit the 14-year-old in the chest.

Maybe the local educational authorities are passively guilty
of negligent homicide, by failure to have taught hands-on courses
in safe and competent handling of all firearms and battle tactics.

Just in case you thought guns had nothing to do with penises:

Tuxedo-clad Seattle man shoots at couple for interrupting oral sex: police

Quote:
Two people were shot at after seeing a drunk man in a tuxedo receiving oral sex he allegedly paid for in a Seattle alley, police say.

The 64-year-old man was quickly abandoned by the woman when their foreplay was suddenly interrupted at about 2:15 a.m., leaving him alone with his angry thoughts.

“I’m going to kill you,” a redacted Seattle Police Department report claims he said before pulling a gun out of his pants during the Tuesday incident.

He then fired one shot at the couple, but missed, the report said.

I enjoy observing people behave like animals; scaffolding the brink of their sanity by hounding on tiny bread crumbs of issues, instead of dealing with the corruption that left them fighting over the bread crumbs, I mean, it must be so easy to make a big deal out of inevitable accidents, as if it was some sort of massive issue, instead of something that happens throughout life in varying degrees on a natural cause & effect basis, but what do I know, I'm just a stranger to everyone on here, who cares about the truth and the grand associations that come with it. As long as people say "I can be just like you", they don't have to go through the meticulous procedure, as long as they wear the mask, am I right?

Don't worry David. You don't have kids to put in danger after you die.
I guess that must be because your guns work better than your penis?

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Sheriff's deputies in Florida say a 7-year-old boy is in critical condition after his grandmother mistook him for an intruder and shot him.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday in Tampa.

According to Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials, 63-year-old Linda Maddox and her twin grandsons were sleeping after their father had left for work. Maddox told deputies she had placed a chair against the bedroom door handle for extra protection. When she heard the chair sliding against the floor, she assumed it was an intruder and grabbed a loaded .22-caliber revolver she keeps by the bed and fired one shot in the dark toward the door.
