It was just a year or two ago that the very same thing happened when an 8 year old was allowed to fire a full auto Uzi at a firing range.

A 7-year-old Bay Area boy had to be flown to a Sacramento hospital after he was hurt while target shooting at his family's Georgetown property, deputies said Monday.

The child was using a single-shot .22-caliber bolt action youth rifle with the help of his father, according to a news release from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department.

He and his dad were shooting rifles at targets at the same time Saturday afternoon. The targets were about 40 yards away. Several family members stood behind the shooters, watching them, deputies said.

Despite the fact that no one noticed any ricochets and the guns were always pointed down-range, the 7-year-old at one point grabbed his chest and complained of pain, deputies said.

CASSELBERRY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) - Casselberry police say two men were involved in an accidental shooting at the Shoot Straight gun range and store on S.R. 17-92 on Sunday.

Police say both men, who are in their 30s, did not suffer life-threatening injuries. However, one did suffer a gunshot wound to his finger and the other a shot to the thigh.

Officers say one man was showing the other how to shoot when the weapon jammed. Reportedly, the experienced shooter took out the bullet cartridge, but failed to point the gun away.

The shooting happened around 8 p.m. at the child's grandparents' house in the Cassville area, officials said.

Hills' grandfather, Dana Buck, said he was in the living room watching TV when he heard a shot. He ran to the bedroom and found Hills, who had accidentally shot himself with a pistol.

Two people were shot at after seeing a drunk man in a tuxedo receiving oral sex he allegedly paid for in a Seattle alley, police say.

The 64-year-old man was quickly abandoned by the woman when their foreplay was suddenly interrupted at about 2:15 a.m., leaving him alone with his angry thoughts.

“I’m going to kill you,” a redacted Seattle Police Department report claims he said before pulling a gun out of his pants during the Tuesday incident.

He then fired one shot at the couple, but missed, the report said.

The Tyler Police Department is reporting that a 20-year-old male has been shot Monday.

The victim was shot in the leg at 3400 Varsity Drive at the Varsity Place Apartments.

Police are on the scene. Initial reports say the shooting was accidental.

A 20-year-old Mount Clemens man collapsed in the parking lot of Mount Clemens High School on Monday morning after he was accidentally shot in the back by a backseat passenger in the car he was driving, according to police and school officials.

Police said the alleged shooter was in the back seat of the victim’s car when his weapon accidentally discharged and struck the driver. The driver continued on to Mount Clemens High School where his mother is employed.

“The driver got out of the car and collapsed and the man with the gun ran off,” said Macomb County Sheriff’s Lt. John Michalke.

John Hyon Dust, 40, was charged with manslaughter after police said he shot 41-year-old Danny Mac Carruthers in the face Friday afternoon. The shooting occurred outside Dust's home while Carruthers was sitting in a vehicle in the driveway on the 600 block of Turkey Trot Road in Killeen.

According to an arrest affidavit, Dust told police he saw Carruthers in his his driveway and "didn't want him there." Dust said he grabbed his pistol, went outside, and told Carruthers to leave his driveway.

Dust said he was pointing the gun at Carruthers and "trying to scare him" when the gun went off.

Police say 19-year-old Vinell Ayers and Fontaine Craft were playing with a gun while sitting in the back seat of a Ford Explorer.

The gun went off hitting 20-year-old Derrick Glasper, who was sitting in the driver seat.

Maddox told deputies she had placed a chair against the bedroom door handle for extra protection. When she heard the chair sliding against the floor, she assumed it was an intruder and grabbed a loaded .22-caliber revolver she keeps by the bed and fired one shot in the dark toward the door.
