So was he fondling his gun in a public bathroom? We may never know.

An Eagan man really didn't want to know how a Gophers basketball game ended before he'd had a chance to watch the recording.

So much so that when a utility contractor working outside his home blared a sports talk-radio station that gave away the outcome, he became infuriated. He allegedly threatened to shoot the worker, and then holed himself up inside his house. That triggered a standoff with a SWAT team and police negotiators that lasted more than three hours.

Note to gun owners.

Don't try to shoot a squirrel when it is on your own leg.

Quote:
A 36-year-old Oregon man accidentally shot himself in the foot while attempting to annihilate a pesky squirrel.

Ethan Bennett told the Benton County sheriff’s department that he was at his home last Wednesday when the rodent began running up Mr Bennett’s left leg.

He told police he then tried to shoot the squirrel with his .22-calibre rifle.

Mr Bennett missed the rodent, and shot himself in the foot instead.

What is it with guns and public restrooms?

A man is jailed on involuntary manslaughter charges after he allegedly shot a friend to death during a Super Bowl party.

The Platte County prosecutor's office charged 34-year-old Joshua W. Bailey on Monday in the death of 22-year-old Joshua Anderson of the Kansas City area community of Riverside.

Investigators say Bailey was drinking and smoking marijuana at the Super Bowl party at his home Sunday when he took out a handgun to show his guests. He reportedly thought the gun was empty when he fired it, hitting Anderson in the head.

Shot while shaking hands?
Wasn't the original purpose of the hand shake to show you weren't bearing arms?

A 19-year-old Westside High School student was shot in the leg early Sunday morning when a gun accidentally discharged at his Perry Avenue home.

Joshua Isiah Milner, 24, of Lynmore Avenue, told police he grabbed his gun from atop a dresser and put his finger on the trigger, thinking there wasn’t a bullet in the chamber. The gun went off as he shook hands with his cousin, Shicobe Milner, and another man, according to a Macon police report released Monday.

OMAHA, Neb. —An 18-year-old is recovering after he accidentally shot himself in the leg with an assault rifle. His father said his son made the mistake; not the gun.

Kory Denton was hospitalized Thursday night after he attempted to fix a chamber jam in his friend’s SKS rifle. The bullet hit him in one of his main arteries.

“There's so much more that could have happened that didn't. If it would've hit a bone, it would've been a lot worse,” said Randy Denton, Kory’s father.

Denton said his son’s injury was an accident and that it could have happened to anyone. Experts on the SKS said a jam would most likely happen when a round is feeding from the magazine into the chamber. Denton said that malfunction is partially due to an untrustworthy gun.

“They're pretty unreliable, and I thought my boy would be smart enough to not mess around with one,” Denton said.

Denton said his son grew up with guns and took gun safety classes, because he enjoys hunting and fishing.

“I thought there was no way, being all the training my kids had, that something like this would ever happen to me.
Boy, I was wrong,” he said.

That kind of epitomizes the thought process of some gun owners.
People with training will never have accidents but sometimes accidents just happen.

A couple with four children were shot and killed in an argument over dog feces on Monday, police in Texas said.

Officers were called to a shooting at the Sable Ridge Apartments in Dallas at about 8 a.m. Monday.

When officers arrived, they found two people, later identified as 32-year-old Michelle Jackson and 31-year-old Jamie Stafford, dead at the scene from apparent gunshot wounds. An infant inside the couple's apartment was not injured.

After talking with witnesses, police began searching for Chung Kim, a resident of the complex identified by residents as a man who lived in the unit below Stafford and Jackson and was seen leaving the complex after the shooting.

Police later located Kim in his black Lexus SUV nearby and took him into custody.

Investigators said the couple had been dumping dog feces on the patio and at the front door of Kim's apartment.
