While snows still fall
and icy winds blast forth,
fatigued with lesser indoor sports,
Red Sox Nation waits
the end of Wintertide,
Plodding onward
with circadian tasks,
Stoic, and abiding all,
in the Athens of
the frigid North.

Dispersed afar,
in their (mostly) southern lairs,
The boys of Summer
stir, pack, and prepare;

But what is this?
This pulse of energy on Yawkey Way?
at the dormant park whose opening
is still two months away?

Behold! The eighteen wheeler, Nation!
Today begins it ALL --It is TRUCK DAY!

It seems the thermometer's stuck
So low that I murmur "Aw pluck"
But the end's drawing near
Soon Spring will be here
Today is the Day of the Truck!
