That's not idiotic; it's called a transliteration.
Holy = Kadosh (the o is long, like in boat) (kah-doash; accent on the second syllable)
God = there are lots of names , and technically we're not supposed to call him by name anyway, but you can go with Adonai (ah-dough-nye; accent on the middle syllable)
Unfortunately, I'm horrible at writing in Hebrew and am mainly bumping this for others. Don't want to tell you the wrong thing!
