Good ole David. Only worry about yourself.

If I inform the hotel manager they can change their policy and inform the desk staff about this scam. That makes it harder for others to be taken in by it when the hotel requires more than just a random room number before they forward a call.

only if there is enough civility and wisdom to hear out and concider unpopular ideas, which is doubtful. the big current trick to avoid what we dont want to know is to label all who speak thus offensive, and do away with them.
