I have two values regarding ice cover:
7.5 million square miles for the year 1982
6.3 million square miles for year 2003

I'm confused as to the what the average annual decrease of ice over this period (21 years) would be in millions of square kilometres per year - please help!

Thanks!

@seasurf,
Subtract the two values and divide by 21.

@fresco,
And then convert square miles to square kilometers.
