now I remember why short hair is a bad idea for me

there were about 24 good hours after the product came out

then it started growing and puffing up again

My condolences.

One time, I badly needed a haircut at the same time I moved to a new area, and knew no one to go to, or no one who could recommend.

I had a job interview, and in desperation, took a chance somewhere.

I looked like Garth from Waynes World the next day.

the cut itself is good - and it was done by someone who'd being doing my hair for a little over a year

what we didn't take into account is that she only knew my hair long - she had been trimming and styling it in prep for a dance competition and then while we were gigging a lot earlier in the year - she didn't know how high it could go without length to pull it down

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow. The person who did my hair had her baby, don't know if/when she'll come back. Her co-stylist did it last time, came out ok. I don't know though if she'll be consistent.

I like my hair like your 2nd picture, but without the tails going down the neck.

Problem is making sure the hair in the back doesn't separate and show any skin.

I've had to do some mini-teasing in the back. I'll have to research on how to tell her to cut it so that won't happen.

I need something like the tails ... my nape is very low.

Of course my hair is on the strongly wavy side - so I've got stupid curls back there now.

<sigh>

this may be how I ended up shaving my head the year I turned 30 - I got frustrated trying to maintain a short style

It's got to grow back out again so I can braid it.
