I think we need to round up some women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s to make a series of videos about how "It got better" after the passage of Roe v. Wade and access to birth control was easier as a way to remind young women of what life was like during those times.

I don't think they really know that it was so much more than back alley abortions, which were awful enough, but certainly not the entirety of how bad it was.

I wanted to be sterilized 30 years ago, I never wanted children. A kindly dr knew I'd change my mind 1 day. 30 years later I'm childfree & pissed that others said they knew better than me.

You know what's really scary? They still think you'll change your mind and refuse to do it.

I remember having the same conversation with my doctor when I was young and getting the same refusal you did. To this day I don't regret not having given birth to a child.

I tried to find the comments too, and couldn't. I imagine they're parsing the comments to avoid the tantruming minority of people who think women shouldn't have the right to choose her own direction in life.

I wonder how many children are abused because they were born to women that didn't want them.

Lots and lots.

A message to the world....If a woman says she does not want children, believe her.

Even if, as so many people want to believe, she changes her mind one day, well, that's her problem, not yours.
