Yes it’s about candy! As a kid Almond Roca was my favorite. Now that I’m older I try to stay away from candy and most sweets. Another favorite of mine was Ice Cubes, that chocolate candy with ground hazelnuts in it. I would let them just melt in my mouth. Divine!

Antonio’s favorites are the Malted Milk Balls. Marco said he doesn’t have any favorite candy, but coming from Puerto Rico he was fond of grinded sugar and corn candy. Don’t ask, I was confused enough with that one.

My favorite candy is champagne truffles from Teusher's. To die for. Can't afford them anymore. I also love chocolate covered cherries (dark chocolate). Can't eat them anymore.

On a more mundane note, I like Baby Ruths. Can't eat them anymore either. And Three Musketeers. Not only can I still eat them, but I can afford them.

@Roberta,
Champagne truffles are just wonderful - don´t know Teucher´s.
I don´t like dark chokolate very much, but it is supposed to be very healthy.

as a matter of fact I do not believe in doing without chocolate.
If one really wants some - buy it, eat it, enoy it. Those few calories will not make any difference, but it might make a whole lot of difference to you feeling well.
If you eat healthy food on regular basis every day - some sinning will not hurt

@saab,
Ill ressurect this dead thred.
Ive recently taken a liking to JOLLY RANCHERS, its sour hard crack sugar brick . It features individually wrapped sour "marzipan-like " confections with flavors of cherry, orange, sour apple (my favorite), watermelon, raspberry, strawberry and mango.
Very sour nd sweet at the same time. You will have to suck on em till they soften up and then you can "smith them" into shpes until you are able to munch. CAREFUL THOUGH___They will suck your fillings out of you chew on em too soon.

My second favorite is dark chocolate covered cooffee beans.

My decadent favorite is Neufchatel Champagne TRUFFLES and Malt hazelnutTRUFFLES.

You may return to your previously posted threads, still in progress.

@ehBeth,
They sell that "Bark" candy at "Wild Birds Unlimited" stores. hen I asked the salesgirls why they carried em, they hqd not a clue.The Bark brands alo made a bag of busted up chockie with toasted coffee beans. You got a double hit, NO, actually youd get a triple hit
1.You'd get two hits from the related alkaloid "jack-up-juice", of CAFFEINE from the coffee beans, and THEOBROMINE, from the chocolate

2. And then, on top youd get a skull pounding sugar high from the candy matrix

However, that aside, Im loving sour tastes in candies lately. When I ws a kid, my favorite cousin and I would sit around on Easter and, as I recall, we would see how many PEEPS we could stuff in our mouths and eat without gagging.

@ehBeth,
PS, do those gummi larvae all have nice sour tastes ? Compare to lemon or a California navel orqnge (California navels are much sourer than the Florida navels and cara caras-so they would make a good member on the Sour scale)

@glitterbag,
not me. Licorice is a big no no for us with high blood pressure. It, qnd a diet rich in hard cheeses will react with a drug called Metoprolol tartrate, and kill you.

@farmerman,
I think the sour peach rings are the most reliably sour. Some of the worms aren't sour enough for me. I like my candy super-puckery sour.

the joy of Bulk Barn is I can get my sour peaches and then a few others to try. Someday they'll make something even sourer than the sour peach and I'll be all over it.

I love white chocolate with freeze dried raspberries or other fruit fillings, and am also quite fond of the Quality Street mixes for this reason.

Aside from that I'm not too big on candy, my second favorite sweet is Ice cream. I always have a tub at home, can't imagine living without it. I just love it. Especially just quality artisan vanilla from the local Italian place with fresh strawberries and cream.. Omnomnom Smile
