You could put exactly what you did above. Some people will probably react badly and say it's too vague, others will try to help you. Maybe nobody will be able to help, maybe somebody has that movie at home on tape! You won't know if you don't ask.

There are a lot vaguer (hey, new word!) queries on that board than yours!

I know this is probably way off but when you said Glider that reminded me of a preview of the Tailor of Panama. I think that's what it was. Well, something with Pierce Brosnan...probably not what you were looking for though, eh?

oh and IMDB is a really good idea (nice job ender) btw, to ask your answer, since you'll be surrounded by movie-goers...many of whom who may know just what you're asking for.
