a few days ago I started clearing my throat constantly and then a day later I started having awkward stinging pain in my chest that seems to get better when I am resting or sleeping. It has been going on for a few days now and I am concerned. I am 23 year old Caucasian male that is relatively active.

So many things come to mind - but you need to get this checked out ASAP.

Do you have medical insurance?

It could be anything from pulled muscles (been lifting, exercising lately?) to gas/heartburn/ GERD to hernia to lung issue.

People have thrown their back out with a sneeze. Your coughing may have done something, too.

The fact that is feels better when you are quiet makes me think it might be muscle related. But get it checked out anyway.

PS - I am NOT a doctor.
