Who is anyone exactly??? I am everyone I have ever been, and I am working on a new me as we speak... You would need a time machine and a very large hand to lay a finger on me... I would be happy to offer you my version of self, but clearly those who know me best would disagree... I see my self, with sword in hand with shield and buckler doing daily battle with ignorance and prejudice, except for Sundays when I have them to lunch... Everyone else simply takes me for some scrufty guy with a lot of books and opinions...

Good, and fun are two words that should hardly ever be found in a sentence together...

You've gotta wonder, sometimes ....

Love and madly should never be seen apart... I was listening to a friend of my wife's list the qualities a man should have before she would consider a relationship, and one was: to have no mental issue... The girl is nice, athletic, and she smokes, but not excessively, not my type, but getting old to the point where youth seems vaporous... I had to point out that love was itself a form of mental illness... Who would submit to it with the power to resist???... It leads to every indignity and humiliation... Love is not victory, but most often is defeat...It never ends well that it does not end in death, and even then it tweak and twangs away at heart strings like a tone deaf child...I look at my life and I have often thought: If I could only love better!!! Then all that is not right would be right... But were happiness my goal I would never have sought love more than happiness because what ever ones trouble is, love is not the cure...
